Ask Away!

It's a bit of a long story, but I'll try to keep it short.

As a disabled veteran, my disability prevents me from working normal jobs. Staying on my feet for long periods is a problem, as is sitting down for too long. I separated from the Navy in 2015 and bounced around for a little while trying to figure out how I fit into the world; this an unfortunate path that many other veterans have walked.

I met Mike Matola, a pioneer of this style, at WonderCon in 2018. Mike encouraged me to give it a shot and impressed upon me that all it took was patience, good handwriting, and a dash of creativity. The Philadelphia Eagles had just won the Super Bowl, and I couldn't find any Eagles art I actually liked, so I decided to write out the play-by-play in the shape of their logo. I never intended to sell any prints or make a business out of it, but when I posted about it on Reddit I became inundated with requests to buy. You can guess the rest.

Through art, I can choose my own projects and my own hours so that my health can come first. It is entirely with your support that I can continue down this road :)

All of my pieces are entirely handwritten using ink on paper. After the writing is finished, I use photoshop to correct colors. I don't use a font for the main body of my artwork; everything you see is my handwriting.

Insane, maybe. Definitely got some screws loose. Depending on the size of the piece, I've spent anywhere from 6 to 60 hours on a print. All of the art on my website includes a section in the description detailing how long that particular piece took.

Yes! Send me an email at CalligrammerArt@gmail.com with some details and we can chat about it.

Send me an email at CalligrammerArt@gmail.com! I want you to be as happy as possible with your print and will work until that's the case.

Don't fret, this is common! The USPS has been terribly backed up since November of last year, and some tracking numbers may not update until the package reaches your door. If it's been longer than three weeks or so, reach out to me at CalligrammerArt@gmail.com and I'll see what I can do :)
